Caliper pin replacement

One of the pins on the front caliper is constantly sticking. I decided to replace both. Do I need to remove the rubber piece from the old one and move it to the new one. It seems that all of the caliper sliding puns come without that rubber component.

I got these from AutoZone https://m.autozone.com/brakes-and-traction-control/brake-caliper-bolt-guide-pin-kit/duralast-brake-caliper-bolt-guide-pin-h15064/350601_402112_4222?spps.s=5472&cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD: NL:1000000:HRD:71700000060668104&gclsrc=aw.ds&&gcl id=CjwKCAiA98TxBRBtEiwAVRLqu_XtU6WULimo4KfWRDWH5Bz KghM16Yg6EnrUORRxxc9-h77vRMQ1UxoCUJgQAvD_BwE

The new ones should have the rubber on the two pins . Or do you mean the rubber bellows?

Some kits show including the rubber pin sleeve and the bellows

Some don’t

The rubber bits are grease seals, if they are damaged replace them.

I meant rubber sleaves that go on the pin ends, but it seems that I need to buy another kit for that. If pins and boots cost me $25, then I may as well get a refurbished caliper for $40.

You do know there are boot kits at RockAuto and we get a discount? Under $6.00

Yes, it seems like I will be able to get the pins and boot kit for around $10. Never heard that members of The forum get discounts. How is that done?

Thanks, Oldblue!

Just found out what my problem was. Up to this day, I was using synthetic brake grease to lubricate sliding pins. Didn't even know that it causes rubber to swell up. Just ordered silicone paste for that purpose.
