Cold Engine Noise

I have a problem, when I first start my 2007 HHR SS w/ 30,000 miles it makes a lot of noise. After heating up 30-40 degrees, it stops. Can some one tell me what the problem is?

That is kind of vague. Could be timing chain slap, timing chain tensioner.

what kind of noise is it?

Why do you keep rehashing this problem with your car. You've started several other threads about this same issue. We gave you answers before.

Oh yeah. There is no 2007 SS.

All 5 threads merged, and closed. Mike, you've been asking about this for over 2 years, you really should replace that timing set before your engine becomes scrap metal. These are interference engines.

timing tensioner

I have a 2010 HHR SS with 33,000 miles on it. When I start it there is a rapping noise until it warms up, the it goes quiet. I have been told it could be the Timing Tensioner. If it is how much does it cost, what is the part number, and how do I get it through GM. Thanks
