the chassis number
the chassis number
Hi Guys
I am in search of the chassis number of the car, what I found is under the front windscreen but I need to know if there is and where is located the so-called punched.
It should be imprinted in the structure of iron car, but not clear if this happens in the U.S, or just what happens in Europe.
I have dismantled much of the car but nothing.I don't find those damned numbers frame.
Please help me

I can’t tell you where the frame is actually stamped with the VIN(Vehicle Identification Number). The number you see at the bottom left side of the windshield is indeed what the USA uses to identify a vehicle. You will find this number on stickers at various other places in the vehicle, like the drivers door edge and on just about every piece of removable sheet metal.

Just some piece of sheet metal that I try with this number but i can not find; the rest is like showed by you kindly . In which pieces of sheet metal have to try?
In this cursed country where bureaucracy reigns supreme, if they do not have this VIN that passage the plate.
Usually in Europe all cars have this VIN as part of the metal structure but only here in Italy is absolutely required in without which I can not move; however if I try again and if there were, where I can look for you again?
Thanks again for helping me, I am 2 months I've purchased.....but soon I'm sure that send nice photos of my HHR.

The stickers he speaks of are on the inside of the body panels. Fenders, doors even the bumper covers. They are proof of what vehicle the parts belong to if it is stripped for parts.
The easiest to find is the hood.
I am unaware of any number stamped in the frame. The Vin on the windshield is what is used here and some older GM cars had it under the dash in a second tag like the Pontiac Fiero.

I will contact my police buddies....they will know if / where the frame is stamped.

This info so far....
"In those instances when a vehicle has a die stamped VIN on the frame, inspect and record the VIN on the frame rather than the VIN on the plate. In addition, the VIN is die stamped into the frame under the rear seat."
More to come.......
