[QUOTE=blacky;724810]

"My car (not an HHR) has a pretty funky electrical system. With a big load and low RPMs the system voltage goes down and sometimes warning lights come on showing that the battery is actually discharging. But this is momentary, and once the RPMs are back up the entertainment is over, for a while at least."

So blacky. Am I reading this correctly that you don't even have an HHR?
Well that could explain a lot.

List:

Kitty asked us for ideas. To share our knowledge.

Give Kitty credit for having a mind.

Kitty obviously has the wherewithal to get help if needed.

Kitty already looked through the archives.

I doubt Kitty submitted the question in hopes that multiple people would respond by advising that somebody should check the charging system and related parts. Or that Kitty should follow the owner's manual. And so on. More likely, Kitty wants to gain understanding, and act accordingly.

Nor is it proper to send people off at the drop of a hat to benefit from free labor at retail parts houses.

I was driving on a straight street, it only flashed for a moment. There are no noises coming from my engine as described in the alternator issue. I'm not certain what else it could be.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks!

And, if your car suggests that you "check charging system" why ask a bunch of shut ins on the internets what to do?

Duh, have your charging system checked. Or, I guess you could adjust your brakes or change your T-stat.

I still don't get the question.

That is correct - and it does.

And now he's gone, and I'd just finished diagramming the shift pattern of his mind.
