My check engine light came on the same day I had schedueled a oil change .I usually take it to the dealer for the oil so I had them check to see what the problem was. They said the computer was not giving them any info.Their was no communication from their tester to computer.Could any one help ?

 

@cruzzonn, did you make sure that the dealership documented this information within their system? Are you experiencing anything out of the ordinary besides the CEL being on?

My CEL came on the same day I got the oil changed, but it goes off when I fill the gas tank and comes back on when at about 3/4 of a tank. ????????????????????

 

, but, seriously, yours sounds like a bad gas cap. What code comes up? Is it P0440 or P0442?

 

yes, now my remote start wont work.

 

Remote start won't work when there's any kind of CEL..... that's design not a fault with the remote start.

Is the gas cap tight? Have you driven the car with it loose, even if it's tight now? Have you ever topped off the tank?

It won't bring up a code. Can't clear the CEL, but it will go off when I fill up.....
A while back I did not have the cap on tight enough, and the DIC said check gas cap.

 

the codes have to be cleared for the remote start to work. mine did the same thing and it was the gas cap
