I am going today to get the codes read. One other new development my remote start isn't working now either.

... which is a result of the CEL code error condition most likely.

^ Yes. If check engine light is on, the remote start will not work. Safety feature, just in case the CEL is for something possibly damaging to the car.

Got the codes read, engine not getting up to proper temp. Thermostat stuck open,or temperature sensing unit is bad.

I don't know why that would cause the "POWER STEERING" message. Also, should not affect the RS since it should clear itself at every cold start.

I think you need a new fiskerator solenoid.

Replace the T-stat with the GM unit there are many reported failures of the after market type, then go from there

chitownmike - when people here say 'post the the code", they mean exactly that - not a verbal description (which is what you posted). The reason being that the autoparts store will often give a verbal description which may be incorrect, resulting in one replacing incorrect parts.

In this case, the verbal description is likely good enough - if you use the SEARCH tool at the top of the page and look for thermostat, you will find info on how to further determine if in fact it is the offending part that needs replacement.
