The fact is if it is lit there is something wrong! And a competent mechanic could find out what is wrong by the code that he read from the code reader that he used to reset the light.

The information you have provided so far is equivalent to "my car is broken, what is wrong?". Think about it - how can anyone provide even a remote guess with the info you have provided.
You need to take it to a mechanic that can fix it for you.
