Check engine light misfire

Check engine light misfire
I have an 06 hhr and the check engine light is on for a misfire. I changed the spark plugs and ignition caps. The check engine light is still on. Any ideas as to why?

A misfire can be many things, what code was it?
which engine ? 2.2 or 2.4?
what spark plugs did you install?
what do you mean “ignition caps”
