Chip in my tire, need replacing?

I must have scraped a curb at some point but I can't remember it happening :/ most of the people I've asked say I should be fine, but yiu guys know these particular cars better, so I wanted an opinion from here.

What's the question?

That's called curb rash.

Oh, the question was if I should replace the tire.

Does it leak air ? Even if not, I personally would not want it on the front of my ride.

Looks like the tread is getting close to worn out, but I wouldn't worry about it. If it was on the sidewall farther up I might worry about a weakened sidewall. That is right on the steel bead.

Yeah I was probably within a year or so of getting new tires anyway, but it's not the *best* time right now.. So if I can let it ride for a couple-few thousand more miles, I will.

If it’s not leaking air, and not causing a vibration, move it to the rear axle , and keep an eye on it . But I would recommend looking for a new set of tires , maybe in the fall.

Since I see no Cord exposure I would guess it will be OK but I would move it to the rear Like OldBlue and Sleeper said.

You could have a small amount of air loss from the impact at the bead point from impact so check the air pressure now and make both front tires the same.
Be aware if you notice any handling change on the front after checking tire pressures.

Personally, I'd pick up a used tire to use for now. Might be OK running around town, but I'd defiantly not put that on the highway. That's a good size chunk removed.

I had one worse than that on the sidewall for 50,000 miles. It even passed inspection. I just put it on the left so I could look at it every time I got in or out of the car.
