Clicking - anyone else had this issue?
I do not know what TSB ask a dealer. HHR's are problem prone there are many, many TSB's. I'm glad I have a good dealer. GM should take lessons on how to build a car from their history. They used to do it right, now they choose to "save a dime" at the owners expense. No OS handle as an example. If the hood latch causes this I'll wait for it to happen again, I'm sure it (or something else) will go wrong. If the car held any reasonable resale value I'd get rid of it. It's already worth 40% less than it cost with 13,000 miles on it......What a shame.
clicking when braking too - no door locks - no auto start...
My HHR is doing the same thing. It all started with - no auto start - then no auto lock on start or stop - and now the clicking when the brake is depressed. What is the problem here?

Hello! This morning, after putting the HHR in drive I heard a strange clicking sound the first time I applied the brakes. I then heard the same clicking sound after releasing the brake pedal. Then, when I arrived at my destination, I noticed that the doors did not unlock. (I have it programmed where the doors lock when you put the car in gear and unlock when you put it in park). Then after work, the remote start wasn't working. I talked to my dad, who is a parts manager at a GM dealership, and he thinks it is all somehow connected, and that the issue is with the shifter and the mechanism that detects when you apply the brake to shift from park. This would make sense, since everything that is going wrong seems to be connected to the clicking sound that I am hearing from the area of the shifter.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone else have any ideas on what could be causing this. I am going to call the local Chevrolet dealer tomorrow to schedule an appointment, but I was just curious if anyone else has had this type of issue with their beloved HHR!

geomauldin, your post here is #26 (top right on the line that gives the date and time you made it. ymerj post # 22 above your show what fixed his problem. Surprised you missed it. You may have the same problem. Very important to read every post made to a thread even though many have nothing to do with the problem but usually the person who started the thread will at some time or another tell us what solved his problem. It took a long time to get ymerj to answer but we were persistent and he finally did.
Well, someone wrote to me and said "can't" believe I missed the answer to the clinking/remote start/auto locks problem. I read it all again - and really didn't see a solid answer.
Here is what the service department did - they gave me the print out. It fixed all the problems. The technician said that it must have been some electomagnetic interference on the speed sensor signal circuit that may have caused the erratic cruise control problem. So apparantly they have devised a patch for this problem.
Subject: 4T45 Transmission, MIL/SES On, DTC P818, Power Door Locks, Cruise Control, Shift Interlock or Retractable Hardtop Inop, Engine Speed Rev Limited, ..... (Reprogram TMC) #07-07-30-005B (9-12-2007)
Models 2007 Cobalt, HRR, Malibu, Pontiac G5, G6, Saturn... with 4T45 Auto Trans (RPOs MN5, ME7)
These conditions may be caused by the TCM setting a false DTC P1818 (Transmission Fluid Pressure (TFP) Valve Position Switch Indicates Drive without Drive Ratio) An updated TCM calibration is now available to address this concern. Reprogram the TCM with the software now available in the TIS2WEB using Service Programming System

I had the exact same problems you were having, they replaced my hood latch and the problem was completely resolved...looks like yours was solved in a completely different manner. ODD.
reviving this thread as i just encountered this problem!
i started hearing a clicking sound from the shifter area when i'd hit the brake pedal.
about a day later, i noticed my doors weren't locking when i shifted into drive.
i went into the CID, reset the "doors lock when shift into drive" option, and the clicking stopped, and doors began to lock again........weird
