Clicking in brakes

I had a 2006 HHR with 3000 miles when I heard a clicking every time I stepped on the brakes. The dealer said it was a sensor and replaced it. After several months it happened again, and this time the car had a rough shift. This time they said the BCM was causing the sensor to go bad and they replaced that. After 2 more reoccurences and many trips to the dealer, GM bought my car back under the lemon law. I was told they (GM) had never seen this problem and didn't know how to fix it. I got a 2007 HHR and now have just under 14000 miles on it, and guess what? I just started having the same problem again and the doors do not lock when shifting out of park. The manual says this feature cannot be disabled due to safety issues, but the car has disabled it on its own. Anybody ever get a satisfactory solution to this problem?

Sounds like the shift interlock. Quite a few HHRs have had to get new ones installed.

Their are times that I can get my doors to stay unlocked when shifting out of park, usually when I have the driver's door open waiting impatiently for a passenger to get in.

Chevy did a buy back on my 06 because of the breaks

I did the buy back as well on my 06 for a rear break issue as well.. My suggestion....I got the SS... DISK BREAKS so no more problems and it's an amazing car. Handles totally different, obviously quicker, nice little upgrades EXCEPT no heated seats offered.

Repair

I took the car in for service. They said there was a new update for the software. They reprogrammed it, and so far it is ok. Time will tell.

buyback

How did you go about getting them to buy back your vehicle.... I'm considering that option, as I am about to go into the service department again to deal with warped rotors for the third time in a year and a half. The car is simply unsafe, and my family was recently frightened on a weekend road trip. I am so upset about this.
