climate control panel lamp flickers
climate control panel lamp flickers
the backlighting on my 2006 HHR's climate control panel flickers randomly. the controls function just fine....just the intermittant flickering backlighting. all the other dash lamps stay fully illuminated....so, took the climate control panel out.....checked all the wiring and disconnected/reconnected all the panel electrical connectors. sprayed the male/female contacts of the connectors with electrical contact spray before reconnecting and reinstalling the panel. thought that wouls fix tit....NOT. so, wondering if there are a field of lamps inside the panel that could be faulty..?? if not, tracing the wiring might be a bit of an ordeal....
There are 2 wires to the light . The grey wire connects directly to the BCM, the black wire is ground and goes directly to the ground on the left side of the dash.
It has to be one of those wires or the internal light. You can't replace just the bulb, you need the entire module.

thanks, DONBREW......I'll break down the center console, again(when it warms up down here in S.C.) and triple check the gray and black leads....otherwise, there's two HHR's at my local pick-n-pull.....may have to salvage.
