Cloth seat issues

We have a 2007 HHR, does anyone have issues with the cloth seats. It appears if you spill water on the seats it will stain. Or am I the only one? Any suggestions?

You are not the only one. The lighter color interiors have it the worst. The ebony isn't as bad. Type in (Stain Seat) in the Search Function and you will find quite a few threads BTW, welcome to the site.

Ialso have 2007 and had a cooler turn over in the backseat. Waterstained the seat bad, but went to the local carwash detailer. and they removed the water stain easy. Looks just like new now.

owens3and2-

WELCOME !!!!!

Good info already given, I would only add: after cleaning, perhaps good seat-covers that will protect your seats....
Some (including me) have chose to add seatcovers.

Here's a link to some different options & etc.

Find some Leather Seats.

I had the same problem with the cloth seats in my HHR. I kept looking and finally found a set of leather seats to replace the cloth ones with. Did not take much to change them out. Just wish I could of hooked up the seat heaters.

Scotch guard the seats..called fabric protection when you get it from the dealer. I've cleaned any stains with carpet/sofa fabric shampoo with good luck.

when cleaning a stain, thr procedure goes something like don't clean just the stain but clean towards the outer edge of the seat so that it won't create rings when it dries.

ebony doesn't show it to me at all. i have gotten water on my seats a ton of times with no marks.

Maybe i should scotch guard it when it warms up just in case.

twistrman-

I agree, my ebony cloth seats didn't really show water spots much either..

I still chose to add some cushy seat covers..The oem cloth just felt a bit rough..
