Control module from Flagship 1, failed only after one day? Any ideas

Really not sure why you're asking for help here. Your problem is with the seller. Contact Flagship 1 about a return/replacement. They do have warranties on their products.
(FYI. I read some reviews on Flagship 1. Not very good. LOTS of dissatisfied customers)

I guess my question is can we reprogram the one I received.
Yes I am in contact with seller and going thru their forms.
Not only did I buy this one but one of of e-bay too. In the threads I saw something about taking fuse 40 and 41 out to reset I believe.

Why would you want to reprogram it ? If it failed, send it back. Get a replacement. If you reprogramed it, I'm sure it would void any warranty. And why do you have another "module" off of ebay ?
If you're looking for help here then maybe fill in some details.
Which module(s) are you talking about ?. There are BCM's, ECM's, PCM's, TCM's, ABS modules etc. all in the HHR.

If it worked for a day it shouldn't need programing,
Reset is not programming and shouldn't make any difference.

My 2 cents is that the BCM or ECM is not your problem, they don't "fail" without a reason.
Which of the 10 or 20 "control modules" are we talking about?
I don't know how you could get a "plug 'n' play BCM, since it holds the odometer.

Control module, plug and play
The ECM was ordered as a plug and play and follow GM's key procedure. I sent the vin number and they updated the module before sending it to me. I have contacted them and after supplying what symptoms to them before and after putting this one in by shop. They are trying to help solve the issue. The folks at Flagship one said it is rare to have two go bad and the shop needs to find the problem. Hopefully the problem will be solved, this site has allot of information on it.

All of that key stuff is un needed. The HHR does the key matching in the BCM.
The most likely problem is a pin or 2 on one of the connecters is bent or pushed back into the connecter.
If it was plug and play what is the need for a shop? Don't need anything but a butter knife.
The crankshaft sensor variation is going to be doing even if you don't get a CEL.
