I have Progressive. No overkill on the coverage, just pretty much what is standard for a GMAC financed vehicle. Anyway, a rock hit mine, and it's getting replaced n/c by Safelite this Saturday in my garage.

Sounds like you paid the couple of bucks a month extra to them and got the glass coverage.

Why have it repaired at all at this point? By your description of the location the crack is not a visibility issue. Save your money. If the crack grows into your view, then replace the windshield.

However, I would not be setting a good example driving around with a cracked windshield in my line of work..

It was fixed, in less time than expected. The only down side... I couldn't mess with a 1990's Civic SI last night because the adhesive needs to set up.

Bummer about defaulting to the Civic, but its never cool when your windshield pops out, the other guy will laugh and point something awful.
