Cranks, but will not start. Whole slew of repairs

Hello all, new member, frequent lurker.

I have a 2008 HHR 1LT with 150k miles that spontaneously stopped starting.

It cranks, but does nothing more than that.
Fuel is making it to the rail, and I can hear the pump.

In attempts to fix this, I've thus far replaced:
Valve seals
Valve cover gasket
Spark plugs
Camshaft position sensor
Crankshaft position sensor
Starter

Items checked:
Timing. Chain hasn't jumped time, and appears to be properly timed.
Coil packs bench tested and passed

Currently not throwing any codes, last codes were for the crankshaft position sensor.

I'll check for any new codes this afternoon after work.

At this point I'm at a loss as to why it won't start. Really close to scrapping it if I cannot get her to start. Any help is very appreciated.

Welcome!

Is it a 2.2 or 2.4? How long have you had it and what do you know about the maintenance and repair history?

If you’ve lurked here a bit you probably won’t be surprised to be asked for the actual codes, not someone else’s misinterpretation, lol. Best to post all you’ve experienced, including those you cleared and those that went away, and of course the most recent.

"Code for crankshaft sensor" usually means timing chain problem. If there is any slack showing on the chain it is bad, How do you know the chain has not jumped?
This is a bad chain:

Yep, that ^^^ bad chain threw a P0014, P0016 code, it was off a tooth, had only 20,000 miles on it!
you mentioned that you changed some parts, why? What code told you to replace any parts?
are you sure that there is compression?
any loose or disconnected ground wires?

It's most likely your timing chain. Does the tach register while cranking? If so the crank sensor circuit is fine.

Tach registers. I'll run the obd when I get home and post codes here.

Thanks! So we checked compression on all 4 cylinders and everything, all 4 cylinders tested at 140psi (+/- 0.5 to 1 psi)

Camshaft position sensor tested bad, replaced. Replaced crankshaft sensor at same time, both parts genuine GM. Code P0340
Code P0335

Recheck the wiring, and test static battery voltage, less then 12.4 volts is a dead battery.

Why do people replace sensors when the code plainly refers to the CIRCUIT?????? That means a wire, connector or fuse and a very long shot is a wire inside the epoxy potted sensor is broken.
Why not just replace "the computer"? It would make more sense (just kidding).

How did it test bad?
