A few months back I did a post on a cylinder 1 misfire code coming up on my HHR. I did replace the plugs and the switched the coils around to see if I could get the code to go away or change....with no luck. Since then the light has randomly come on and gone off. One shop told me the fuel trim was back on track and the light should eventually go off. It did go off and stayed off for several weeks. Now it has come back on and this time the (TC) light is coming on and going off randomly. Check the code again, still cylinder 1 misfire. In this week the (TC) light has stopped coming on and now this morning the engine light is back off. I have ran fuel injector cleaner throught the fuel a couple times as well.

Any ideas as to why there is sometimes a problem and other times not? Car has 102,000 miles Injector going bad? I just dread taking it to a dealership in fear they will throw all these parts at it that it truly doesn't need.

This is the first Chevy I have owned and I got it because of the style, gas mileage and convenience of it and I really do like the car....but honestly, this car has been the worst at having so many little problems.

Run a compression test.

Don´t waste your money with the injector cleaners. I used tons of them to fix a P303 code... Did the same as you: Swap coils, change spark plugs.... until I change the injector, the code never appeared again
