dashboard lights not working
I'm not sure when they changed the lights or the wiring. I was under the impression that Canadian models used the parking lights? I thought Transportation Canada had a different law than the US DOT.
It's not that it's different than other models, it used to work properly, now I can't see anything at night except the IP which is good so I know how fast I am going and how much gas I have. Just can't work the heat with the use of a flashlight. I live in the country and it's dark.
I think I counted at least 4 combinations on my 2008 LT, never worried about it on the 2011 LT.
MSRP for the part is $31, discounted internet price is $17. + shipping. The ones I saw (for 2009) on eBay start at $21 free shipping.
Be sure to get the right one, some years don't have the dome switch.

Really, some HHRs don't have the dome light switch in them??
Looks like this is the one SWITCH. Instrument Panel/Interior Lamp Switch. INSTRUMENT PANEL PART 3 for 2008 Chevrolet HHR. #15892120
UPDATE:
DUh! Never thought of this until I was pulled over last night for no taillights!
Headlights worked fine and I have been driving around for over a week with no taillights. The fuse (#69 under hood) was blown. Apparently if the taillights don't come on, the dash lights don't either.
The reason for the blown fuse was the side marker lamp wires pulled out of the connector due to ice build up (weight) from rear tires. I've had issues with these marker lamps coming out in the winter before, but the wires never pulled out before.

We will file that info for safe keeping!!!!
Took me a lot of studying the schematics to find that the tail lights are really parking lights, on the same circuit. The stop/turn lights/markers are separate. BTW, there is also a parking light relay.
