I have a 2010 LT w/134000 miles. The dashboard has been going completely dead while driving, it defaults to the instrument lights check. All the lights across the bottom of the dash light up. It usually corrects itself in a few seconds. There are no drivablity issues that I can see except, the last time this happened I was just repositioning the car. It hadn't corrected by the time I was done. I hoped it would reconnect upon restart and turned it off. I was totally surprised when the motor keep running and even more surprised when the key came out without ever touching the brake pedal!
I have seen similar issues posted here but never found a "check this" solution.
As a retired mechanic, I have no intention of seeing the Dealer but I also have no desire to tear the entire wiring harness apart searching for the loose connection.

And have the battery load tested, post the voltage/amperage results here.
