keyhole. put the key in and wiggle it around and remove it a few times, see if it stops.

 

I will try the WD40 trick tonight.

I have this same exact problem and my check engine light came on one day and it wouldnt start after taking it to auto zone the code read engine control module every thing else on my car works just fine problem is only chime when taking out keys could it really be connected to the ecm

 

Did you try the 2 possible solutions presented?

A statement about codes, his hhr is just fine and a question about the ECM. Hmm, I’ll take dead battery for $600 Alex.

 

We've seen much, much longer 1 sentence posts before.

 

I have my headlights on auto and I never hear a chime unless key is in ignition.... There may be a sticky switch in the ignition thinking the key is still in even when its removed?
