OK, so my ex busted out my driver's side window and broke off my door handle, crazy....I got the window replaced professionally and found the handle used from a salvage yard....I am tempting to save a few buckes here. I decided to work on it by myself. I got the door panel off just fine, I am having a hard time getting the handle latched in though, so I need help with that. But here is the kicker.....I was a complete idiot and slammed the door shut when it started to pour ran outside!!!!!!!!!! So how in the crap do I get the door open?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!?!

 

which handle got broke? Im assuming the inside, couldnt you just use the other handle to open the door?

 

He broke off the exterior handle...I took off the door panel, which means I also took off the interior handle.....my dumb ass closed the door when it started raining!!

 

Grab the rod that connects to the handle and pull.

 

I suppose you got into your car by now, but I called my insurance company when I got locked out and they sent a guy down. He instantly opened my passenger door with a Slim Jim. My next door neighbor let me know that he had a Slim Jim right after the guy drove 30 miles or so to open my car. You could also ask someone with an Hhr if you could try their key. A few years back I opened a car in a Walmart lot with my key before I realized that I was in the wrong car.

After 11 years? Yeah, I would hope so! Laughing hard here...

 

I obviously did the, shift to park, press on brake, wait for door to unlock... and pulled on the inside door handle to open the door.
now I have to roll down window and open from outside latch to get out.
No pats are actually broken but something inside door must need replacing.
Suggestions please!?

Either the door handle cable is disconnected at the interior door handle or the door latch assembly



The cable connects here at the interior handle, most common place it breaks or isn’t reinstalled correctly
