Our Chevy HHR 2008 fob hasn't worked in a while. And late tonight the key would not open the driver side door. I read somewhere that a bang on the door (Fonzie's bang) will work. Please help we don't have any spare money to have a lock Smith go out and do whatever. How can we get the door to unlock???

Does the key turn in the lock?

Take AAA up on a 30 day trial membership to use the lockout service? My car insurance (Nationwide) has a key service included at no charge.

Once you get it open, check your car battery!! It's probably on its way out!!
