Door problems

i noticed today that my front doors seem to have "sagged" maybe..
the bottom corner of the door, on the hinges side, seems to be digging into the side steps.. ill have to take pictures when i get a change to clear that up if it doesnt make sense..and since it is doing this, the paint is flaking off on the outside of the door in the same corner and rusting from this winter
i did not notice this since its winter and the car is dirty and finaly washed it this weekend and found this! its happening on both sides but the passenger side the most..anyone else have this problem? nobody leans on the car doors so im not sure as to why this is happening..is this somehow covered under warranty by any chance? i know my factory is up on my 2008 but i bought extended warranty but i doubt its covered...i baby the hell outa this thing and this just pissed me off now i get rust on the outside of the door!

Can you post a picture or two? It would help clarify what is happening. :-)

Is it the door sagging or the skirt mis aligned? My skirts got all in a bunch (pun intended) by bad lift positioning, caused them to come into contact at that point.

Had that happen to my SS. The Dealer had it fixed, they adjusted the skirt.

Yeah, skyline, I kind of agree with SS Fan.

I compared your picture with my passenger door opened and it appears my "rocker skirt" (side step, as you call it) is tighter to the metal frame. Yours, in the picture, appears to be raised some.

If your door edge dropped, for some reason, I would think you would have excessive wear on the door striker plate. You might check that.

Do you actually see it rubbing?
In the winter ice forms there and grinds whenever I open the door. Leaves and mud can also get caught in there.

well damn that makes me angry, considering the only lift it sees is at the dealership
and yes it actually rubs, you see the corner dig into the step as you open/close it..now it messed up that hole corner by rubbing the paint off and now rusting...would they cover it at all ? grr
