Door Rattle

I have a drivers door rattle on my 2009 SS that is absolutely driving me insane

Is there an easy way to take off the door panel or otherwise get inside the door to find this godforsaken rattle?

Any help here before I go off the deep end would be appreciated!

JB

I can attest that it's cold out here in Chicago land as well... that being said mine just started rattling this weekend. It's bugging the crap outta me.

Sorry I can't offer any advice other than that I will be taking mine to a dealer whenever I can find time if it doesn't stop.

My drivers door would clank and rattle over bumps; I found out that if I tugged on the strike plate (piece where the door latches on) I could recreate the noise. I reoriented and tightened the plate and the noise is almost completely gone.

Thanks pitbull. My noise sounds more like a spring (if that makes sense) than a clank/rattle, but regardless i'm going out there in the snowstorm and give your suggestion a try.

If it doesn't make any noise when you're trying to move it around, best to leave that part alone. Just a possibility that I had happen.

Well, I don't think its the strike plate - it seems as if the noise is inside the front of the door or even in the driver's side dashboard.

Looks like a dealer visit...

any fix yet?

Any luck yet? Mine has it too. I sounds like a spring! (It must be temp related, It has been very cold here).

No luck yet. It does sound exactly like a spring with the sound coming from the middle of the door. Its not the interior door handle, but between the handle and where the lock knob is.

I can't say its temp related since I have only had the vehicle this winter, but you might be right.

Same for me. Only had the car for a month and today was the first day above freezing..
