If yours is auto, does the remote start work?

I was thinking of unlocking when put in park Unlocking can be personalized in the DIC.

If your vehicle has power door locks, the doors will
automatically lock when the shift lever is moved out of
PARK (P) for a vehicle with an automatic transaxle.
For a vehicle with a manual transaxle, the speed must
be greater than 5 mph (8 km/h).
The automatic door locking feature cannot be disabled.

In my 2008 I believe there is an option on the DIC to set when the doors will lock.

Hit the "Info" and '-> (arrow) buttons at the same time and it will give you several options that you can personalize such as whether you want the horn to sound when locking/unlocking the vehicle, whether you want the DIC to display English or Metric measure and when you would like the doors to automatically lock/unlock.

Now if your vehicle isn't auto-locking at ALL then that's a whole different animal altogether.

I know this sounds too simple but..........have you read the manual? Many answers for things like this are there.

Any chance that the any of the doors are open when pulling it out of park? If so the locks will not engage automatically.
