Driver door

The driver's door on my 2009 LT makes a metal on metal sound when opened. It is starting to rust on the lower left corner of the door. I've checked and tightened the mounting bolts on the door but it hasn't helped. Has this been an issue with these cars? What might help to fix this?

The vehicle has started to sag in the middle and the door isn't plumb with the post/pillar anymore and the door really needs to be aligned.

Looking at the picture, the door gap to the fender gets wider as it goes higher. Take a look at the door hinges. The bushings and/or pin on hinge is probably bad.
Open the door. Lift up on the bottom of the back of the door. If there is any vertical movement or “looseness” then the hinge is bad.

If the hinges are good I would then look to see if the car has been hit in the front and pushed the fender back.

The rust is a result of the poor fitment.

Both the door and fender need to be adjusted for better gap fitment

It's not sag as I thought or it would be closer at the top. Need an alignment done.

The other doors are fine. If the car is sagging wouldn't other doors be misaligned too?

You can adjust the fender. Loosen all the bolts then use a large screwdriver or other tool in the openings at the top to move it, then with your other 2 hands tighten the bolts.
