I am not able to open my drivers door from the inside. I took the door panel off and it feels like the cable attached to the actuator is slightly loose when I pull on it when its detached from the panel. 2006 HHR, Im just wondering if I replace the actuator, if that will fix my issue. Thanks!

 

Welcome to the site, is the cable loose in the handle or is the handle not pulling the cable?

What are you calling the "actuator"?
What are you calling the "cable"?

I would have to try to make things work by pulling/pushing on things to see what isn't working.

I don't think a new latch assembly would help, since you can open it from the outside. I would be looking at the wire from the inside handle to the latch.

 

When I detach the cable from the inner door Panel there is no tension when I pull on it. It seems loose inside the door lock assembly. Is it fixable if I disassemble the door lock assembly?

 

The outer handle just has a linkage rod to the door latch , the cable from the inner handle goes directly to the door latch, check that for any broken parts , it is possible the cable snapped.
