Same problem here, dealer wants lots of money but won't quarantee because if its not the steering column and motor then it could be the computer. So I parked car in garage and bought a 2008 Jeep Liberty

What YEAR?

I remember there is a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) about replacing the steering column. I believe this was on the early cars, pretty much just 2006, where this failed all the time. Wasn't this the failure for which GM sued its supplier?
