Engine codes
Ron,
According to OBD-II Check Engine Light Trouble Codes these are the code explanations... Also, they are P0 not Po. If you tried to search and used Po instead of P0, that may be why you didn't see any results.
P0700 Transmission Control System Malfunction
P0717 Input/Turbine Speed Sensor Circuit No Signal

P0700 could be the TCM or the solenoid in the transmission
P0717 is the speed sensor
When was the last time you changed trans fluids and trans filter
How many miles on the HHR
This could be a loose ground wire, check the ground connection at the front of the transmission, just down and to the right of the oil filter housing .
Follow that wire back up to the rad cradle , make sure they are clean and snug, you'll need a 13 mm wrench or deep socket.
How old is your battery, sometimes an older battery on the way out, has a little fun before it goes south.
Well check these and let us know if this helps
