engine harness electrical connector

this is what happened
Some time ago the pilot light lit up "engine malfunction".


Diagnostic computer does not see "ECM. "
Cause of the problem was found quickly - bad contact connector (In the picture are numbered).


After cleaning the dust with the liquid WD-40 after blowing compressed air contact was restored.
However, not for long. A few days ago the same thing happened again.
How to solve the problem? Grateful for any information.

You need to make sure all the pins in the connector are correctly seated and not damaged. Use dielectric grease in the connector also.

Dielectric uually comes in a tube (like toothpaste Geg). A good way to apply it is to put a small amount onto the contacts. Once you reconnect the plug, the dielectric grease will spread and protect the contacts from future or further corrosion. I hope that explanation is useful for you.

thanks for the info.

Last evening tried to buy the dielectric grease.
In shops it is almost there. And where is - a very expensive (420 rub. = $ 15 for a small tube). Apparently, the shop-soiled goods. Small demand.

Trying to use. If I would have questions about these connectors, I'll ask them.

What do you think? I was not able to buy a goddamn dielectric grease! All over the goddamn Ekaterinburg no goddamn store with dielectric grease! Some sellers do not even know what it is.

No. That is the opposite of the grease. You could use the spray on ignition wires and distributor caps to get the moisture out of older cars electrical systems. The spray would only destroy the ECM contacts.

Try an electronics store (like our radio shack) or go to an electrical supply house or store and explain to them what you need to protect from corrosion. Maybe they have an equivalent for electronics.

Also try a motorcycle repair shop.

Me too, came the thought. I mean to apply to the industry, "Radio Engineering" and "consumer electronics". For this few hours, I visited several sites. Unfortunately, in electronics, too, only sprays.
Have an idea to visit the warranty shops of household appliances. Perhaps they recommend something.
As for motorcycles - in Russian automobile and motorcycle is shared. All goods bought in one shop.

What about electricians, they use dielectric grease when they connect aluminum wire into a circuit breaker.

it seems, Russian electricians learn from other textbooks. I've never seen anything like it.
I'm more inclined to think that the to very few people in Russia need dielectric grease.
