Engine miss..then surge
hard start
I've been noticing this for a while now.
Driving the car down the road, it acts just fine and get to a stop light where you sit for a minute or two and I start to feel an engine miss, when I feel it do that,
I start to look at the rpm gauge and notice that it's bouncing like a miss and almost wants to stall but then it surges and runs normal, no miss.
Does it once at almost every stop light.
No check engine light or anything. Have 52k miles now.
Any ideas before I take it in?
Run some seafoam through the gas first and see what happens?

What year of HHR (you registered with a 1996 HHR???) - 2.2 or 2.4 or SS model?
Also, you registered as being in Michigan, yet posted from Kansas??
How many miles on it so far? Has the Engine check light lit up at all?
Fuel filter is built into the fuel pump which resides inside the gas tank for the non-SS models.

I'm not sure why says Kansas. Not ss I think 2.4 138,000 miles also every once in a blue moon it does this weird engine reduce power thing? I truly think my hhr is just going to die, I can't afford to take into dealer I need to figure out what's wrong first so I can prepare. I am disabled income low, thanks for help :-)
So if dam fuel filter or pump not something I can do myself is it?
