Engine power reduced

I stepped on the gas earlier and all of a sudden engine par reduced came up and I couldn't accelerate properly and now my check engine light won't turn off. Anyone deal with this issue yet. And I just bought it 2 days ago. Thanks

Scan it. Without the code(s) all you can really do is guess.

What year and engine? As db/sb said, you need to have the codes read before attempting a fix. Also if you bought from a dealer, you may want to take it back to them for repairs.(warranty?).
Not sure what you mean by engine par reduced. Guessing you mean engine pwr reduced. If so, it sounds like "limp mode" which is the computer reducing engine power to avoid any damage.
First thing. Get the codes read. There is a listing on this site of these trouble codes.

Oh yeah. Welcome to the site.

Here's the link to the diagnostic trouble codes: https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/problems-service-repairs-42/list-diagnostic-trouble-codes-2008-2010-hhr-14259/

@Cfpcsr, did you purchase the vehicle from a dealership? If so, I would be talking to them about what your experiencing.

This could be totally unrelated, but one time when I left the clamp loose on the stock airbox after having it off, the intake worked loose after a couple of days, and created very similar symptoms. I found and fixed it in the lot here at work, even before getting the codes read.

So maybe you could do a quick visual to save you a trip, but if you got it from a dealer, this SHOULD be something they can address for you that close to purchase.
