Error Code U0121-00

Hi, I just wanted to start off by mentioning that I'm not a mechanic! I have a 2008 Chevy HHR 2.0L with over, 160,000 miles, Iv been having some issues with error code U0121-00 at autozone the computer scanner popped up several codes that led me to replacing the intake and exhaust solenoids, air filter, air duct tube, interior cabin filter, and 2 fuses, the check engine light quickly came off after disconnecting the battery for 10 min then resetting the computer but the Red Brake light, ABS, and Traction control light still keep coming back! I cant find any more info on how to fix this, I am hoping to recieve some possible solutions, TY!

The EBCM has a problem. Maybe, wires, connectors, fuse or the unit is destroyed.
It would be helpful to know what codes made you do all of that stuff. The descriptions that they give you are usually misleading, the numbers tell the truth.
You might check fuse #44 under hood fuse box.

The 2.0 engine was only available in the SS version of the HHR.
You should verify your model and engine size.

The first code that was affecting the check engine light was P0010, so I replaced both solenoids and while I was there I figured that I might at well see if I can fix the air intake duct since I had noticed years ago it was shredded up, I had asked my husband several times throughout the years if the tube was important to fix and I kept getting that it didnt need to be fixed, but I saw that it was easy to do and I went ahead and did it myself since I had already removed the cover to get to the solenoids, and It made a huge difference in the sound of the car, other code that it threw when I went back to check it at autozone was about the MAF sensor but that was my fault, I check back my work and I forgot to reconnect the MAF harness to the sensor, I then went back the same day to buy the air filters since I was sure that they had not been replaced ever, they were disgusting, and I also saw that the bar that holds the air filter was making the little rattling noise I was always complaining about, Tightening up the bolts was all it needed,so now it runs ALOT smother and its not rumbling like it used too on idle and It I went on the freeway to test drive and it doesn't feel like it forcing itself so much to get to higher speeds, its just the last error code that I still need to get rid of, I also purchased new tire pressure sensors since all 4 have been out for a while, and hope to get that done this weekend, my registration has been out since may and Im trying to save money doing some repairs myself, Im not a mechanic, Im a stay at home mom, I do maintenance and repair my vintage and antique sewing machines so I have a bit mechanical knowledge. I Really like my HHR. I know I need a new one vehicle but I would love to keep her for as long as I can.

Why do you think you have a 2.0L?
What fuses did you replace? Check #44 under hood. Push all of the fuses in both fuse boxes to make sure they are seated.
Did you think to replace the cabin air filter? I bet it has never been changed. Owner Manual link in my sig.
So, you are driving around with expired tags? That means no insurance, Good luck.

Yes, I replaced #44 the one under the hood, It didnt show any signs of being blown but I changed it anyways, yes I changed both the air filter and the Cabin filter. And yes my plates have been expired, that is why Im reaching out for help, the mechanic that my husband takes the other vehicles too has been no help and Just told him to buy a new car, Im at my wits end and thats why Im trying to fix the car myself to be able to pass inspection. I can't afford a new car and I feel like mine still has alot of life left. The only code and lights left are the U0121-00 and when the car is just turned on the brake light, Abs, and Traction llght will be off but after driving for like 2 minutes they will come on. And the dash will say, Service traction, Service ESC, Traction Off.

By your description of the air cleaner assembly and the shredded intake hose, it's not a SS 2.0. And a 2008 non-SS with the VVT valves (the P0010) would be a 2.4.

One more time. There is a link in my Signature to get a FREE digital Owner Manual. https://www.chevrolet.com/support/ve...manuals-guides

Have you looked at wires; are there any that are burned or frayed?
What happened just before the U0121 started? Any touching of wires?
Mechanics that say thing like that should find a new career. Turning away work is a bad business model.

Yes I just checked it is a 2.4 , And yea I think the mechanic just doesnt want to deal with it since he mostly works on my Inlaws Large trucks, I don't see any torn wires or anything, I went through the whole manual and It only states to go have it serviced at the dealer ship, then those warning lights come up. I will keep trying to find a solution and get back soon.

Photo does not show how bad this thing was.

Fixed the end, and saved about $80
