Your blower motor resistor has failed on you, check out this thread and the thread sub-linked to in post#4.

use the search tool. You will find lots of info on Butyl patch and blower resister.

Everybody has heard of it, 2006 has a special problem.

Yup that is a sign of a bad blower motor resistor. They are usually easy to replace and are located on the bottom of the HVAC unit at the bottom of the passanger side of the dash. Usually just the connector and 2 or 3 7mm bolts.

I think I found and pulled the resistor,it looks like a computer car that slides up in there is this the resistor, the fan still blows on high with this removed, is this correct!

Sounds like you found it, should look like this....

The GM part number is 15818910, the Delco part number is 15-80879.

With the resistor pulled, you will only have the high speed fan setting available, that's the default with no resistance on the circuit.

I would like to say got the part in from Advance Auto for 43.00, It took me about 10 minutes to install and the fan is working on all speeds now, that is great, I would like to thank all the guys on the forum and their support, this issue was solved very easy with all the help from the forum, if you have issues this is the place to get all the help you need to do the work yourself and save yourself costly repair bills!
