I bought a 06 with a 2.2 all wiring and sensors burned up. What is involved in replaceing the computer. If I get one same year and numbers what will it affect, speedo, radio, remote lock ect ??
Well the answer to your question depends on where the wiring harness burned and what computer module was damaged. If the damage is under the hood a change of ECM will not affect those items you listed, but be dang sure you get an ECM for an '06.
There are enough differences between the '06s and the following model years to make them unique enough that matching model years is a must.
If the damage is to the interior harness, then yes changing the BCM will affect a good deal of the functions you named, also get one from an '06.
Due to the nature of the GM-LAN system and interrelationships between the modules that are scattered throughout the HHR, you have a big job on your hands. Once everything is done, you'll need to haul it to a GM dealer so they can program the assorted modules to the VIN so that everything will "talk" to each other.
As an FYI, replacement wiring harnesses are hard to get your hands on, there are times when they are made of pure "unobtainium".
