Front bumper reinforcement question

Hi all, first post so quick intro. I bought my son a 2008 HHR 2LT at a great price as his first car to learn how to drive. So far that hasn't gone very smoothly and I just returned from a trip to the salvage yard and am having trouble with the fit for the steal front bumper reinforcement.

I took an undamaged one off a 2007 LS and the bolt holes are not close to lining up, about an inch off. I have looked at a few parts websites and from what I can garner all the HHR front bumpers are the same. I want to make sure this is the case before I start to bend metal to realign the front bumper mounts. I didn't think the damage was enough to put it that far out of alignment but I could be wrong.

So bottom line, is the 2007 LS front bumper different than the 2008 LT front bumper? Any help would be appreaciated. Thanks.
