Hey Taz3 how did you do with the search of the clunk!

 

No, I got wrapped up in getting the other HHR sorted out and on the road for the Mrs. I don't have enough room in my shop, being the off season for the hotrods. As soon as I get the race car tucked away, I'll have to get at it for a good look, although it maybe after the holidays now, as most of my free time will be with family over the next little while.

I have been paying attention to when it's most noticeable and found at slow speeds the steering wheel isn't returning as well as it should IMO, so I'm wondering if the strut bearings maybe worn. I have looked at the lower control arm bushings, they are intact, sway bar links are good and well greased, and no leaks from the struts themselves.
