But i have a little over 42k miles on my ss idk if it still has the powertrain warranty

 

Your powertrain warranty goes to 100K or 5 years. I think you're good. The following fuel related items are listed as covered:

Regulator (Limiter), Fuel Pressure -- Replace
Pump and/or Gasket, Fuel -- Replace
Pump, Auxiliary Fuel Tank Transfer -- Replace
Regulator and/or Gaskets, Fuel Pressure -- Replace
Pump, Fuel (Engine Mounted) -- R&R or Replace
Injector, Fuel -- Replace
Rail, Fuel -- Replace

I would definitely go to a dealer. Worst case if it isn't a covered item is you'll have to pay the diagnostic fee, but it sure sounds like you should be covered.

 

change the fuel filter first, than check rail pressure , if still low, check fuel regulater for leak back to tank. by penching off fuel return line. if still low pressure, bad fuel pump or feed line between fuel pump and tank lid has hole in it.
