girlfriend took it in... they reset it.. again.. service tech said "i been doing this for years and never seen this problem"..

haha well "i been owning this car for 2 months and its been reset twice now and did act erratic twice too where it stopped reading then worked again then quite"....

maybe getting aftermarket ones will be better idea then the gm's?

its just a bummer that my girlfriends truck has had MANY MANY MANy sensor problems and was reset everytime... then i get the same annoyance hahahaha bummer!

all well its reset for now! still love the car haha

The Check Tire Pressure Monitoring System light just came on this morning. I'm at 50K miles, so it isn't under warranty. It appears to still be registering tire pressures, so I'm not sure what the problem is. I don't really want to bring this to the dealer.

Is it registering the pressure on all 4 wheels? Usually at least one will show --- if the light is on.

When I rotated my tires, it mixed up the front and rear. I guess they are assigned to each wheel. Put over 60 pounds of air in before realizing they were switched on the computer.

The simplest way to disable the TPMS is a small square of electrical tape placed over the idiot light on the dash. You can always remove it to comply with Federal law.

I just keep getting new ones at the dealership I take mine to when they start to fail. From what I can find they are like $50 a piece, plus install and such to fix it.

I'm glad to have them even though it cost me an extra $130 to equip winter wheels with a set.

When winter brought the temperature down to -10C, the system gave me a warning for all wheels. Sure enough, they needed more air for the colder weather. Remember, the tire pressure requirement is for the pressure to be recorded when cold. So +20 or -30 - you have to deal with the changing tire pressure. TPMS helps alert us to problems.

So the TPMS light came on a few days ago, but hasn't come on since. All tires are registering and I never got the ----- on the DIC.. Go figure.
