There are small independent shops around! They are usually honest and cheaper than "name" brands. Try asking around at the local auto parts stores; NAPA, autozone, advance etc.

AAMCO said $30 "ENGINE oil"??? Not the $300 transmission oil flush & fill?

Maybe your brakes do need to be repaired? Have you ever looked at the rears?

I had just changed it 3 weeks before. Took it to another shop and told me brakes needed to be done. I had just done them 6 months before. Dealer, sadly, has not been that much better.

May need to take it to a dealer further away that has been good in the past, but any suggestions would be helpful.
Hey guille2228,

I know you're bringing this to the forum, where users like donbrew and firemangeorge have helped countless HHR owners, but if you'd like me to share your concerns with that Chevrolet dealership and have them contact you to set up a service appointment, I'd be happy to do so. Just send us a PM with your contact info, VIN, mileage and preferred dealership and I'd be happy to get that ball rolling for you. I'd also be happy to look further into that dealer visit you mentioned if necessary.

Let me know if you'd like to proceed with that. I'd also be happy to assist with any other questions.

Regards,

Geoff G.

Shops in Garden Grove

Hey guille2228,

I am hoping you are in the South Bay area; Garden Grove, CA.

Grew up in the area and family still there.

The two places we have liked are:

Dave and Jim's - they have been honest, quick and priced fairly. I am the gear head in my family and my brother's will ask me before a shop. Since I have moved away, I tell them to take it to D&J before a shade tree friend.

Chapman Auto - my niece is in Orange and they are fair and do electronic diagnostics.

Hopefully it is not too late and you have found someone that gave you great service at a reasonable rate.

Good Luck!!
