Exclamation Headlight issue

I have an unusual problem with my left headlight. I have searched the internet and haven't found anything on it. My left headlight works when I unlock my car with the remote but when I crank my car it doesn't work. I have a 2006 HHR 2.2L. Has anyone heard of anything like this? I bought new bulbs but then realized it was working when I unlocked the car so I don't know if the new bulb would help or not.

First of all, welcome to the site!

I'm not an expert, but I would think the bulb would fix it... The bulbs are similar to those ones you have in your house that have 2 or 3 different wattages....you know what I mean?

Maybe someone with one that burned out can chime in... I had to replace the blinker on mine, and it was more work than I would have liked, but it wasn't the end of the world. But like I said, I would try replacing it first and then seeing what happens after that.

No problem! Changing isn't really hard, it's just you don't have a whole lot of room to work with unless you take the wheel well completely off... I just undid a few bolts and went with that.

Even better, I had my driver's side headlight replaced and 2 weeks later it blew out again. When I brought it back to the mechanic he said the bulb had actually exploded inside. It was covered by warranty, thankfully.

Is it really hard to change the blinker bulb? Mine is out and I was told only the dealership could do it. $95.00+cost of bulb to change it. That is just crazy to me.

My 2007 just started the same thing. When I unlock the doors the lights work. However when I start it the left headlight goes out. Did changing the bulb fix the problem?

Left Headlamp low beam problem

I have replaced the left headlamp twice in the past couple of months. The left headlamp does not work on low beam ... high beam is fine .... AND it works normally (low beam) when I hit the unlock on my key fob. It must be a computer problem but I sure would like some help if there's another way!
