Headlight problems

I've had my car for four years now. I keep burning out headlights. Its always my drivers side. Usually high beam but this time its low beam. The longest my cars went on a pair of bulbs is 9 months and thats the first set the car came with. Lately I've been getting about 3-6 months out of a set of bulbs. I'm on like my 5th or 6th set. This is just rediclious.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any clue where to start looking for the solution?

Are you using factory style bulbs or those Silverstar things(which are known to have a shorter life)?
If I'm remembering correctly the DRLs use the high beams at reduced voltage. That would explain the high beams burning out first.ChevyMgr could you confirm or correct this idea?
The next thing to check for is any sign of water intrusion into the headlight assembly.

I just got 41000 miles out of my Phillips Xtreme bulbs...equals more
than 3 years of driving. My nephew never got more than 9 months
with the Silverstars.

I'm using different bulbs. I've used everybrand. There shouldnt be any moisture leaking in the headlight. It's never fogged up.

Mine goes through headlights like they are free too. One of the originals went out (High Beam) after 3 months. Dealer replaced it it and then about 2 months later the other one went out also replaced by the dealer. Those lasted about another 8 months and I replaced them with a pair of Nyko or some brand and those lasted 6 months. I put in a set of silver stars and one has gone out after only a few months too. It is driving me nuts. I am careful to not touch the bulb but I can't help but think this could be an issue or something.

Even if you are positive you've not touched the bulb. I feel it is prudent to wipe them with an alcohol pad..After installing them in the sockets.
Someone at the factory may have touched them..Anyhow can't hurt imo.

LLC has an 06 model. Only the parking lights come on for the DRLs. That being the case, DRLs are not causing the problem.

When I had to replace my bulb I found it impossible to find a bulb. I still find it difficult to find bulbs. I wonder if its a design flaw being a new bulb and all. Also, Why are they H13 and 9008?

My stock ones were fine, until I replaced them with silver stars because I thought I would get a brighter beam. I didn't get a brighter or wider beam, and they burn out constantly. I switched to regular 10$ sylvania's and haven't burned one yet.
