Heater Resistor??

2006 HHR

Has a weird issue with the heater. The heater works on all speed settings but when you select the floor/winshield defrost mode for some reason it stays on the dash vents. If you turn the knob back and forth a bunch of times it will turn the defrost on but then kicks it off after awhile and goes back to the dash vents? Most days it wont work at all. Its getting cold and snow is on its way this weekend.

Thanks

You have a problem in the control head or more likely the temp actuator. No resistor is going to fix this.
