Welcome to the site.

Since you didn't bother to say what year model your's is, it's hard to tell if your car is covered under the Special Coverage bulletin. Not all year models are covered under this.

Hey there kt_did22,

I can understand how frustrating this experience must be. If you would like me to look into anything or assist you with working with your dealership, please reach out via private message with your name, contact information, VIN, current mileage, and involved dealership.

I look forward to your reply,

Jonathan A.

I had the same ignition problem. The local dealership re[placed the ignition at no cost and the problem vanished. Another thing ... we tow our HHR with a motor home. If a certain fuse burned out the ignitrion will not work.

time machine!

Ignition fix and recall are old news. GM recently announced they are paying $25 gift cards to get people in for new ignitions switches.

Welcome to the site! A good reminder with the experience to back it up. I had my shifter replaced two months ago N/C and was told it's not just a one time deal, if it sticks again !

Not a hidden recall, it is an extended warranty. If it was replaced previous to 2015 it with the bad part, the new design part is not supposed to do that.

Most registered owners received a letter from GM in 2014.

I recently had my ignition switch replaced and ever since I've had no power when I turn the key to the accessory position. I was unable to leave it again or wait that day so I left. I'm not sure if the problem is a fuse or maybe they installed a bad ignition switch. I've had nothing but problems with dealerships and hate to think I'll have to take it back to them again. Anybody have any ideas?

I think you already listed your options: take it back to the dealer, or check your fuses yourself, or replace the switch yourself at your own cost.
