Hhr high rpm then hard shift, no code thrown
Hello, i have a 2011 hrr and am trying to figure out why it is acting up. When i start to accelerate from a stop my rpm will go higher then they should and then tue car does a hard shift from 1st to 2nd, it sometimes does it shifting into other gears but is most noticeable from 1st to 2nd. I suspect the shift solenoid but the car isnt throwing and codes that would support that suspicion. Every once in a while if i do a hard accelerate my tcc light comes on, but as soon as i turn off and restart the car the light goes off. Any help would be much appreciated
Are there any engine codes? How old is your battery, engine oil. Any rodent chew marks on the VVT solenoid wires?
any noises coming from the front hubs?
have you changed transmission fluid and filter, could the fluid level be low? Any leaks under the car?

There are no engine codes, battery is a few years old, but still starts strong. Oil is under 5000 miles, both vvt solenoids replaced a few years ago.. i will have to look at the wiring but we dont live in an area where rodents are typically a problem. Topped off the trans fluid 2 weeks ago but have not done a trans fluid and filter change
Why "top off" the ATF? Where did the fluid go? Did you remove the fluid level control screw to measure the level.
You need to find out why the traction control light comes on; that is not normal and probably related.

Couldn't tell you where it went.. just that it was shy a quart and a half.. maybe it couldn't deal with biden anymore.. idk.., yes i did remove the fill level indicator screw just under the passanger side half axle and filled till fluid came out. Didnt change the issue, my 1st thought when it started having problems was low tranny fluid.. but even filling it up didnt resolve the issue. It doesnt feel like its slipping, just that hard shift
Just got done changing out the spark plugs, started it to make sure all is good but without the maf sensor plugged in.. and traction lights came on.. do you thing its possible the maf sensor is foweled and could be contributing to the problem? Went ahead and cleaned the throttle body while i had access to it.. just in case, but also replaced that just a few years ago
