and they replaced the whole lid n latch , FREE

I believe this was due to the cover opening in a collision, allowing loose items to (possibly) be thrown around the vehicle. I read something about this a while back. Not a recall as it can be easily fixed by the owner. It was a safety issue that came up and needed to be addressed. I wondered when we'd see this "update."

I got my letter and cheap plastic piece in the mail the other day...funny thing, it was smashed to bits in the envelope!

That's REAL smart GM...send plastic in a paper envelope during the middle of the busiest season for the USPS!

Got mine in the mail today (i had 1st edition latch)and i put the thingie on,, was not a big deal IMO, tho i quess stuff flying out of the bin might be a problem.
Could be worse recalls,,,,,
