Subject: Upcoming Noncompliance Recall 08157 Instrument Panel Storage Bin Door
Based on information from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website, the media may report that General Motors will be announcing a noncompliance recall
To correct this condition, GM will mail to customers a latch reinforcement. Customers will be given instructions to install the part or have their dealer install it.
anticipate that parts will be available in November, 2008.
Customer notification letters will be mailed in late November, 2008.

I have just the opposite problem with my lid, I push the latch button & it won't pop up. I have to pry up on it with my thumb while pushing the button. P.i.t.a, someday I'll get around to messing with it to see what's up with it.

I bet one of your nipples are missing. 
It could be both nipples are missing. There should be two rubber stops located in the front corners of the glove box that hold the door level with the dash. Here's the great part, you can't buy them seperately you have to buy the entire box. Search the threads and I think Snoopy posted a viable fix that didn't require new rubber bumpers.

OK, so I bought mine preowned. How do I find out if the headliner/roof recall was supposed to be done on mine? How do I find out if it was done? And how do I find out about this recall?
