Hole in oil pan
Hole in oil pan
my daughter n law knocked a hole in my oil pan. Drove it for about a block. The engine is not seized up. But now it wont start. The fuel pump wont make any noise when you turn the key. Is there any sensors that would keep it from starting
There shouldn't be. A little more info would help:
- what engine/what year?
- How do you know it isn't seized?
- does it turn over with the starter?
- Have you replaced the oil pan?
- Did someone jump start it after the oil pan issue?
- what caused the hole in the oil pan? - what did she hit?
- are you positive that it was only driven for a block?
- did she say if it overheated before it shut down?

The "Drove it for about a block" is the quote that concerns me.
Why even drive it at all if you did that much damage.
If she didn't realize it was that bad, then why just 1 block ? Engine light came on ? That's as far as it would go until the engine quit ?
Yeah, need some more details before I could make any suggestions.
