I am sure it has been asked a 1000 times,

My factory remote start just stopped working.
I can lock/unlock the doors with the key fob, but not the starter.
When i try using the remote start, the lights blink 3 times and the horn honks three times.
There is not a code, and the engine check light is not on.
Usually when the remote start on my car doesn't work, its because my girl forgot to put the gas cap on right.
This is a new issue,
I have checked fuses, i have swapped relays, i have disconnected the battery, but nothing works.

Is there something else i can check?

Check all of your exterior lights.

Thank you for the replies.
I have checked all the light's, exterior and interior.
I have opened/closed every door, hood and rear gate.
The gear selector seats properly into park, and lines up as it should in reverse, neutral and drive.
All three brake lights work, blinkers work, fog lamps work, highbeams works, radio works, LOL.
Nothing looks to be out of wack, other then the remote start refuses to work.
There has to be something wrong, or the horn and lights wouldn't blink three times when trying to use the remote start.
So something is telling the computer not to let the car be started via the remote.
But, like i said. there is no code, or check engine light on.

What about the "hood open" safety switch? I know the automatics have them to prevent remote starting if the hood is open. You may want to check that switch for a problem.

I wouldn't think its a car battery issue, because the car starts on the first hit of the starter. seems to be plenty of juice in the battery, the starter doesn't lag like it would with a weak battery.

I'll have a look at the hood safety switch. my girl just got home, so i'm going out to tinker with it some more.

Thank you,
I hear you there, we both get pretty much the same weather.
Luckily mine just stopped working two weeks ago, but summer is coming in hard. i would like this thing to work.

I'll post back on my findings, but so far i can't seem to find any of the usual suspects.

Have your codes checked anyways,,sometimes if its not a hard fault it will store without setting off a light
