i think my hhr is junk....anyone else tired of theirs
If you're not going to bother taking it to another dealer 45 minutes away, you don't have the patience for a lemon law buyback. I'd be willing to bet you've somehow torn up the torque converter and the thing is locking and unlocking at speed, causing the jerking and rough shifts. Considering you've replaced the brakes, too, I'd say it's more likely you're really driving the hell out of the car.
Keep in mind, Chevrolet's going to look that car over pretty good if you make it through the buyout process and they're only going to give you whatever residual value is left in the car at this point. If you've abused it, they're going to find out.

so i take this is lesson learned...........
over all i still like the feel of the car and the old rod look but thats it...
wont buy another
Wait...$399 a month for 4 years? I'm paying $430 a month for five years straight up purchasing mine and I had the sales tax and negative equity rolled into my payments. You got screwed, man. It's tougher to get qualified for a lease than regular financing, so the dealership was blowing smoke.

Okay, I know Branson, vacationed there many times as a kid. That place is downshift hell on cars. I don't doubt at all if you're getting rough shifts if the car's downshifting under full throttle going up a hill. Also, with all the stop-and-go in town on those hills, you're going to wear the brakes. Trying driving around in "I" mode around town. The tranny will spend less time hunting for gear and the engine will reduce the braking effort needed out of the brakes.
Or you could simply ignore this advice, just like everything else we've suggested you try short of the lemon law...

the hard shifting is all the time...it shifts hard when accelerating and slowing down....it shifts hard regardless.....
The dealer FINALLY found out what they think the problem is...said something about the Transmission Shift Solenoid is out........so im in a rental car all weekend till they get it...got a nice Chrysler 300
actually no, this thread wasn't sarcastic to begin with....im 100% serious when i said "i think MY HHR is junk" and it is JUNK....if the dealership don't get the tranny issue fixed this time around i am calling my local rep...already got his number.....
I don't have ,like, a PhD or anything......but, I think coming to a web group like this one and b1tching, moaning and generally complaining about (the reason for this group's existence) is kinda asking to be 'flamed'. I could be wrong (may even be sarcastic...I've been before). That said, I personally would NEVER buy an automobile during it's first production year, as that's when problems are most likely to occur. Furthermore, during the second production year, I try to watch recall and Tech bulletins for a while to see if those design flaws have been addressed and cured before I'd buy the car.
But, I personally despise my local Chevy dealer, and I deal with one that's about 30 miles away. I dunno what I'd do if I had to call the 1-800 number.

Actually lots of members b*tch about problems. That is part of what the group is about...finding common issues. This member just has an atypical number of issues. No one should be flamed unless they do noy actually own an HHR in which case they have no right to come here and slam our car.

i never *****, moaned, or complained about the existance of this group....dont know where you got that from....i have never said and will never the HHR in general is JUNK....i said MY HHR is JUNK....seems there are a few others who have had junk HHRs as well.....i will never buy a year one production again....i just take this as lesson learned....
by the way...the dealer never ordered the shift solenoid...turns out they used that as an excuse to not touch the car friday....they looked at the car today and decided that it was my stereo system that caused the shifting problems....i told them they were full of ****....i have 1 15" sub with a 200 watt amp running it...that wasnt even hooked up for the past 1 month...and i had ran the system for 1 full year with no electrical issues other than 1 battery with a bad cell........
oh well i got to drive a Chrysler 300 for my troubles....to me its a much better car and very much more room in it....Chrysler did a good job with it...
